I've a few questions that have me curious about Megawhaitsia.

So if this thing's venomous, what kind of venom do you suppose it used to bring down prey? Hemotoxic, Neurotoxic, both maybe? Sure, venom ain't preserved in the fossil record, maybe we could speculate on this.

Also, what kind of prey *did* it hunt?

How big is this protomammal in length, height, & weight?

If this annoys ya, I apolgise. I just want answers is all.
:icondarkbinder:
Well we dont certainly know what kind of venom it produced, there are 2 possibilities : or a very powerful one or a weak one due its size that could have been around 2.5-3m and probably 1m in height (only a maxila has been found and a total kull length has been stimated up to 50cm).
It probably hunted pareiasaurs and even gorgonopsids

I'm guessin' maybe a venom of moderate strength, you know, for attackin' prey and for last-resort defense? Would that have worked for Megawhaitsia?

So, Megawhaitsia was about 6-10' long & 3' tall?

So it hunts pareiasaurs. I can believe that. But gorgonopsids? Its bigger relatives are bruisers! The gorgonopsids Megawhaitsia could've hunted in its life- would they happen to be smaller? Does it hunt anything else in its area.

Also, where did Megawhaitsia once live?
:icondarkbinder:
But in the are it was found there not remains of gorgonopsids, so it was the top predator in the area, some gorgonopsids were larger than it but the true is that most gorgonopsid were not as big as most people believe, in exceptional cases they could have reach lengths of 4.5m but that is ver y very rare.

I see what you're sayin'. Ya didn't answer a question of mine, though: Where on Earth did Megawhaitsia once live, Africa, Asia maybe?
:icondarkbinder:
East Europe (Asia)
